CNC Setup Machinist
Job Description:
Utilizes expert knowledge to program, set-up, and operate a variety of CNC Lathes. Setup experience must include the ability to be timely and efficiently setting up complex prototype and production parts to required specifications.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Programs, sets-up, and operates CNC machines in a safe and efficient manner to produce prototype and production parts to specifications, including complex or difficult parts
2. Works with a wide variety of materials, tooling, and machine operations.
3. Ability to interpret complex blueprints and apply a variety of geometric & trigonometric principles.
4. Experience in uploading, downloading, and detailed editing of programs.
5. Capable of working with a wide variety of materials, select speeds, feeds and tooling.
6. Thorough knowledge of specialized cutting tool selection.
7. Inspects precision parts and makes necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy.
8. Promptly and accurately completes all required recordkeeping.
9. Develops and improves machine processes and writes process data sheets.
10. Trains and assists co-workers with CNC machine operation and problem solving.
11. Performs machine maintenance.
12. Keeps the machine and surrounding work area clean, safe and well organized.
13 Debur parts when time allows.
14. Maintains the security and confidentially of our customer’s products and documentation.
Qualifications:
• Minimum High School Diploma – prefer trade school machining degree.
• Must have 5-10 years of CNC experience.
• Experience with set-up, fixturing, and operating CNC lathe.
• Ability to interpret complex blueprints and apply a variety of geometric & trigonometric principles.
• Candidates should have experience producing machine parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
• CMM experience is desirable.
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a team based environment that heavily emphasizes quality, performance, cross-training, customer service and high accountability
