Job Description
Programmer w/EPIC experience
Under general supervision, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable healthcare business systems and industry requirements. Prepare detailed specifications from which system configuration will occur. Designs, tailors, tests, troubleshoot, documents, and maintains those programs. Guides and advises less-experienced Application System Analysts. Assists with the management of customer expectations and customer interactions. Assists with team quality management initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Knowledge of healthcare information technology at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors degree with concentration in Business Administration, Computer Science, Healthcare, or other closely related field in order to understand information technology principles.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum of 2-5 years experience with using information technology in the healthcare industry.
2. Experience in information technology customer service.
3. Experience with key client applications preferred.
4. Experience with application implementation and support in the healthcare industry.
5. Knowledge of Epic data courier, interfaces, importing/exporting of data and Epic bridges is preferred.
6. Database and architecture knowledge is preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences
2. Ability to develop detailed specifications for medium to complex configuration of client Applications.
3. Ability to facilitate and document application design sessions.
4. Ability to effectively use Information Services tools.
5. Ability to evaluate, tests, and troubleshoot application issues.
6. Ability to complete configuration of a client application given detailed specifications.
7. Ability to comprehensively test and document the results of testing for the application supported.

1. Competent to work on medium to complex system configuration and testing assignments.
2. Provides technical leadership and experience to solve production information system problems.
3. Manage customer expectations and customer interaction process
ć Gather and analyze customer requirements and expectations
ć Assess customer level of satisfaction and confidence
ć Address customer issues in an effective and timely manner
ć Inform customers of changing risks and other challenges and drive customer reevaluation of needs and expectations
ć Assists in evaluating whether the technology solution meets the needs and expectations of the customer.
